It's the day after Memorial Day, which means you can FINALLY wear white!! Hahaha, while I don’t abide by the 'no wearing white after Labor day' rule, I can’t deny that white is the go-to shade of the Summer.

Personally, I can't own anything white (because as soon as I do... it gets stained or comes out of the washing machine looking more like super-pale yellow) and I thought I would eventually grow out of my 'issues' but alas that isn't the case. Now, just because I can't seem to "get white right", it doesn't mean you can't! Summer is the perfect time to wear white -mostly because you aren't as pasty as you were during the Winter- and this season... it's all about dressing head to toe in white!

*Ready to Wear tip: Mix in colorful accessories.

*Plus Size Tip: Try to wear as little layers as possible! *GASP* I know, that usually isn't the case with plus size dressing BUT in wearing all white you should avoid looking as bulky as possible! I would suggest an all white maxi-dress or skirt, and if needed for layering, try adding a cardigan or blazer.

*Tip for EVERYONE: The Clorox BLEACH pen... will save your life--or at least your clothes anyways!

Keep in mind that you can find pleated skirts at EVERY thrift store and they can easily be hemmed by sewing machine or by using hemming tape!

*Plus Size Tip- Wear your skirt above your navel to cinch the smallest part of your waist! Add a blazer or short sleeve cardigan for layering and length to hide any unflattering bulges!

Beautiful weather calls for being out and about! Whether you're taking Fido to the dog park, having a picnic, or taking a dip in your local watering hole... Chances are you've got a lot of stuff to take with you! Leave your recyclable grocery bag at home and put your goodies in something as fabulous as you are! Below, I've shared a few of my favorite tote bags with you and if you're interested in the who, what, where... you can check out the specifics on each bag here

I've always avoided wearing python print in fear of looking like a cheap escort. This Spring, I'm so happy to see that designers have moved away from the patent, red, and python mixing and have changed things up for the better! As we all know, color is going to be on everyone this Spring/Summer and the snake print looks perfect when paired with pastels and neons! Try mixing a python accessory with your next colorful outfit and see how many double takes you get!

Ok, ok, ok... I hated this trend when it first started showing up on heads last year. Overall, I was turned off by the hairstyle because it reminded me of the little kids in The King and I. Hahaha!!
Because women tend to wear their top bun, right on top of their head and not all of us are blessed with luscious thick hair --- more times than not, the look isn't appealing. Rarely have I seen a woman who can rock a top bun and when I do, she always looks the same = super thin and she has the bone structure of an angel.

Obviously, as a plus size girl... bringing attention to my 'wider' face isn't ideal, so I just dismissed the trend completely! That is, until a friend of mine showed up to work with the most amazing top bun!! That thing demanded attention and I just HAD to know how she did t! The biggest difference was the volume...

I can't wait to perfect this top bun and I have Pink Cup Cake Vintage and my friend Britt to thank!

Look no further than your local thrift store when trying out this trend. A denim shirt will look best when paired with denim of a different wash or when worn with a skirt! Keeping in trend with the season, I would suggest pairing your denim shirt with a floral or pastel colored skirt! xo-the brunette
