Meet The Designer: Rachel Zoe
This New Jersey native was exposed to contemporary art and fashion at an early age by her parents. After completeing her psychology and sociology degrees at George Washington University she moved to NYC, where Rachel’s career in fashion began. She became the assistant editor at a New York based fashion magazine and two years later, was promoted to senior fashion editor. After working in NY as a fashion editor for several magazines she decided to make the move to LA where she could merge the worlds of fashion and celebrity. Almost immediately, Rachel made a name for herself amongst the elite after her clients quickly made and remained on the best dressed lists of both fashion and media outlets. She singlehandedly brought about the vintage movement due to her devotion to the 60’s and 70’s style eras. Zoe has also written a New York Times best seller “Style A to Zoe”, and became the creative mind behind an assortment of accesory lines in the early 2000’s. Rachel has since become a household name with the debut of the “The Rachel Zoe Project “ on Bravo. Since the show’s inception, Rachel has also pursued the creation of her own line which is currently being sold at fine retailers, including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman & Saks 5th. Her collection ranges in price from $250 - $700.
The Rachel Zoe Collection is inspired by the fashion world of the past and is a collection of wardrobe pieces tailored to four ‘different’ girls:

The Rachel Zoe Collection is inspired by the fashion world of the past and is a collection of wardrobe pieces tailored to four ‘different’ girls:
- the Parisian Girl, a girl who may have never been to Paris herself, but dreams of what it would be like to travel there… she watches old films, looks through vintage magazines and is always dressed to impress.
- the Charlie Girl, she is a confident woman inspired by the star of the iconic perfume ads from the 70s, her look is androgynous and sexy without being revealing.
- the Downtown/London Girl, who epitomizes “London cool” with a love of fashion and willingness to take risks. She is playful and often mixes 60s glamour with sophisticated and elegant sexiness.
- the Uptown Girl, who is mature and sophisticated but loves to have fun. She juxtaposes effortless gowns or tweeds and tuxedos with everyday pieces. Though divided in concepts, the four girls are united through glamour and collectively have a place in a woman’s closet regardless of age, style, or occasion.
